Hydration Now!

Exfoliate regularly

Exfoliating should be part of your summer routine and it would be ideal to do so 2-3 times a week in order to remove dead skin and improve blood circulation to the face. Choose from any of the scrubs available in the market or make one at home, using one of our recipes posted on our blog.

Moisturize everyday

After exfoliating, the next step should be the regular moisturizing of your face and body, day and night. Look for moisturizers, containing hyaluronic acid, that plays an important role in the skin’s rejuvenation process by retaining moisture and regulating the tissue repair.

Clean face thoroughly

After a long day, when you come back home you need to remove make up and the sunscreen. To do so you will use soaps, liquid or sold ones. It is crucial to use the right soap. Heavily scented ones strip skin’s natural oils, speeding up the drying out process. Look for rich, foamy, mild fragrant-free soaps.

Drink plenty of water

This is one of the best ways to keep the skin hydrated. Drinking plenty of water is essential throughout the year, and especially during the hot summer months. If you think drinking plain water is boring, trying adding some lemon slices, some fresh mint leaves or some cucumber slices.

Eat well

A well-balanced diet is the base for healthy skin, as it provides the body with the necessary nutrients. Fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables are extra beneficial for moisturizing our body and face as they are high in fluids and have a lot of fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Use sunscreen

In a place like Cyprus where there’s sun almost around the year, a good quality sunscreen is an essential item of our daily routine. Choose a sweat-proof sunscreen lotion with moisturizer and SPF 30+. Apply sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before stepping outside and reapply after contact with water or after exercise.
