Filling the Christmas stocking!

We’ve already told you how to make your own stocking to hang by the fireplace! Now we bring you 3 great ideas on how to fill them!

Idea # 1 “Let's Relax!”

The Christmas period is are usually packed to the brim with outings and other obligatory family excursions making time at home somewhat limited. So what could be more perfect than filling a Christmas stocking with your favorite goodies for relaxation?

Start off with a shower gel and body cream set, preferably one whose aroma emits a feeling of warmth, for e.g. vanilla and cinnamon. Add some exfoliating cream to the stocking as well. If you prefer personalizing the gift some more, refer to our post dated November 21 where we show you how to make your own exfoliating cream. Next, fill the stocking with some relaxing scented candles, for e.g. lavender.  Finally, throw in manicure and pedicure sets if they are being gifted to a woman or after shave cream if the gift is for a man.

Idea #2 “Sweet Christmas”

Nobody can resist some sweet temptation, especially over Christmas when one has a field day with festive sweets and chocolates!

So how about filling small glass jars with chocolates, and then wrap a red ribbon around the lid! For coffee lovers, add a couple of vouchers from the favorite café of the person to whom you are gifting this present so that they can buy some coffee or any other of their favorite drinks that can be enjoyed with candy! If your friends / relatives have a fireplace, a bag of marshmallows to melt in the fireplace would probably be loved! Make the "sweet" stocking even sweeter with some sticks of butter candies too!  Finally, include some jam jars and jars with chocolate spread which are always a welcome addition to any Christmas stocking!

Idea #3 “Cozy Xmas”

We are in the middle of winter, so let's fill our sock with goodies to help us cope with the freeze!

A beanie and mittens set is ideal for excursions in the mountains and will delight anyone receiving it as a gift. For those nights on the couch, in front of the TV, a warm blanket is a wonderful addition to stocking, as is a small heating pad and thick colourful knitted socks! And finally, what is more reminiscent of winter and Christmas to complete these stocking filler ideas? A bag of chestnuts to be roasted in the fire, flooding your house with their gorgeous nutty scent!
