Ingredients ( 4 portions)
I packet of spaghetti
2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 jar of tomato sauce
2-3 fresh chopped tomatoes
½ tsp chilli powder
2 tbps capers
1 tsp sugar
100 gr can tuna (in sunflower oil or in water)
A handful of basil leaves
Instructions
Heat the oil in a pan, throw in the onion and cook for a couple of minutes until soften. Stir in the garlic, tomatoe sauce, fresh tomatoes, capers, chilli and sugar. Season with salt and pepper and bring to the boil. Stir, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring a large pan of salted water to the boil. Add the pasta and cook until it becomes al dente. Do not throw away the water.
Flake the tuna into the sauce and heat through. If you wish, add 2 tbsp of the pasta water into the sauce and stir.
Drain the pasta, return to the pan, stir in the sauce and basil leaves and serve!
