3 cups peanuts (465g) salted
2 cups (250g) sesame seeds
1 cup (200g) sugar
1/2 cup (175g) honey
2 tbsp vinegar
3 cups peanuts (465g) salted
2 cups (250g) sesame seeds
1 cup (200g) sugar
1/2 cup (175g) honey
2 tbsp vinegar
Put the sesame seeds in a frying pan and roast for 20 minutes. Stir until they all become golden-brown. Set them aside to cool down.
Put the sugar and honey in a medium-sized pot. Place them on high heat and stir constantly until the sugar dissolves (30-40 seconds). Reduce the heat and cook for 4 minutes, stirring for the whole time. Add the sesame seeds, peanuts and lemon. Stir constantly for 2 minutes.
Place the mixture on a pan with non-stick baking paper on it and spread with a spoon dipped in seed oil. If you have a small rolling pin, spread it with seed oil and knead the mixture until it spreads nicely. Carve the pasteli with a pizza cutter. Set it aside for half an hour and then cut it completely.
Store in an airtight container.
