In the context of countering the spread of Covid-19 coronavirus, METRO supermarkets, in full compliance with Government decrees and guidelines, are implementing a series of measures for everyone’s health and safety.
METRO supermarkets respond to current conditions with a sense of responsibility towards both the customer and their staff, working seamlessly to ensure quality service and continuous re-stocking of all requested products.
METRO implement strict hygiene measures in all areas of their supermarkets.
Trolleys and baskets are disinfected with antiseptic at regular intervals and there is antiseptic spray and paper available if customers wish to clean them themselves. At all entrances there is hand sanitizer and gloves offered to customers.
In addition to the continuous sanitising of the premises, general disinfections take place in all our supermarkets by professional external associates.
At all entrances there are people that monitor traffic in order to abide by the limit of 1 customer per 8 square meters.
Plexiglass covers have been installed at the tills, fruit & veg department and customer service desks for the protection of both staff and customers.
In order to maintain necessary distances between customers at points where queues are observed, floor stickers have been placed indicating the distance our clients must keep. Every 10 minutes there are announcements from the stores’ speakers in Greek, English and Russian, where the public is urged to keep distance from other customers. The same notice
is posted on many parts of the supermarket as well as on digital screens.
Every day from opening time until 10am we serve exclusively vulnerable groups, our clients over 60, and people with disabilities upon demonstration of documentation, as required by the relevant government decree. The rest of the time, from 10am to 9pm, we serve all customers.
METRO promises to continue serving the public with a sense of responsibility, providing all the necessary products, taking all necessary measures.
