So, you wanna impress your friends and relatives and fill your home with one of the most delicious aromas of the East? There’s no better way than by cooking up some Tandoori Chicken, baby! This easy recipe will melt in your mouth, and best of all won’t stuff you with unnecessary calories. So pack your bags for a gastrological journey to the Punjab!
Ingredients:
juice of 2 lemons
4 tbsp paprika
2 red onions, finely chopped
16 pieces of chicken, skinless dark meat
vegetable oil, for basting
For the Marinade:
300g strained yogurt
large piece of ginger, grated
4 cloves garlic, crushed
¾ tbsp garam masala
¾ tbsp cumin
½ chili powder
¼ turmeric
Directions:
Mix the lemon juice, paprika, and red onion together in a shallow dish. Make 3 shallow slices in each piece of meat, and then place into the liquid for 10 minutes.
Put all the ingredients for the marinade into a bowl, and mix well. Then pour the marinade onto the chicken, and mix everything together. Cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate between 1 and 8 hours.
Baste the chicken with vegetable oil, and barbeque on a hot grill for 8 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is nicely browned.
Serve with Basmati rice.
