Easy and ... "terrifying" Halloween treats!

On Monday, October 31, it’s Halloween! To celebrate the day, we offer you three easy Halloween treats to get you into the “scary” spirit!

Spooky Lips!

Ingredients: (for about 6 lips)

1 large red apple

Hazelnut praline (Nutella)

1 bag small white marshmallows

Method:

Cut the apple into wedges about 1 cm thick (leaving the peel on).  Brush all the slices with hazelnut praline (Nutella), about 1 teaspoon to each slice. Press your marshmallows onto the praline on a wedge so that they look like teeth. Then top with another wedge and your spooky lips are ready!

Freaky Fingers!

Ingredients: (for 10 fingers)

10 breadsticks

1 large white chocolate

Green food coloring

10 almonds

Method:

Melt white chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave for 30 seconds. Once completely melted, add ½ tbsp. green food coloring and mix until the chocolate turns green. Then put the chocolate in a shallow bowl, dip a breadstick in halfway and then lay on a top of a layered baking tray.  On the side of the coated breadstick, press an almond on the tip so that it looks like a nail.  Repeat and once done, carefully put the fingers into the refrigerator for 15 minutes or until they have chilled sufficiently so that the almond slice doesn’t come unstuck.  You can serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Banana ghosts!

Ingredients: (for 10 ghosts)

5 large bananas (not very ripened)

2 large bars of dark chocolate

2 large bars of white chocolate

Cornet (for decoration)

10 lollipop sticks

Method:

Cut bananas in half and insert your sticks in each piece.  Melt all the chocolate (separately) in a double boiler or microwave for about 30 seconds and pour the melted chocolate into two separate bowls.

Line a pan that fits into the refrigerator with some wax paper.  Dip the bananas in chocolate, half in the white chocolate, the other half in the dark chocolate and carefully place them on the baking sheet. Then put the pan in the refrigerator until the chocolate goes hard.  Next, melt the leftover chocolate, place in a piping bag and paint faces on the bananas. Use white chocolate on the bananas coated with dark chocolate and vice versa.  Put back in the fridge to harden and set. The ghosts are ready!
