A walk in the forest can give your children, not only the inspiration but also the materials to create some beautiful works of art!
You will need
- White drawing paper that is a bit thicker than the usual one
- Autumn leaves in all shapes and in colours of green, brown, orange and yellow
- Pine cones
- Thin sticks
- Glue
- Colouring pencils
- Scissors
- Pencil, rubber
Method
The idea is for the children to be creative. It will be helpful though, to get them to draw the picture with a pencil before and then do a composition on the drawings with the leaves, pine cones and sticks.
- Take a picture you like and using it as an inspiration, draw the outline of similar images and shapes on the empty paper using a pencil. These pictures can be of animals, sceneries or even trees!
- Place your leaves on the images, without glueing them, in order to see which colours and shapes go well together. Decorate with the pine cones and the thick sticks. Use the scissors to adjust if you need.
- Once you do that and have decided on your design, glue the leaves, cones and sticks on the paper.
- If you want, you can complete your composition by adding touches with colouring pencils on your work of art!
