Looking for a refreshingly light dessert with overtones of summertime? Check out this super simple watermelon sorbet recipe. Watermelons are known for being heavy on the antioxidants and light on the calories! Perhaps that’s why it’s summer’s most iconic fruit!?
Ingredients:
700g chopped watermelon, without seeds
100g brown sugar
3-4 cups fresh lemon juice
Directions:
Chop the watermelon into small pieces, and place the pieces along with all of its juice in a bowl. Next, put the sugar and the lemon juice into a pot and mix well. Boil for 2-3 minutes to make a syrup. Then, remove the syrup from the flame and set aside to cool. To speed up the process, you can place it in the refrigerator for an hour.
Dump the watermelon and its juice into your blender, along with the syrup, and blend well. Pour the whole mixture into a metal container and place in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Remove and mix. Repeat this process for 6 or 7 times every half hour, until the mixture has thickened and gained a nice consistency. Alternatively, you can throw the whole mixture into an ice-cream maker, if you have one!
