Mamma mia!

1) Make her a DIY perfume or a body spray

A scent that will remind her that you love her is an ideal present. So let’s make one.
Decide what you want and create a personalised spray or perfume especially for your mother! To make it more personal, use essential oils with aromas that are her favorites e.g. rose, lavender, citrus etc. The difference between a body spray and a perfume is that a body spray has less essential oils  and more water than the perfume.

For approximately 1 cup of body spray:
10 tbsps of alcohol
1/2 tbsps of essential oil
4 tbsps of mineral or distilled water
½ tbsp glycerin or vegetable oil

For approximately 1 cup of perfume
10 tbsps of alcohol
2 1/2 tbsps of essential oil
2 1/2 tbsps of mineral or distilled water
1/2 tbsps of glycerin

Instructions
Mix in a bowl, the alcohol and the essential oil slowly. In a separate container mix glycerin and water. Combine the two mixes. Let the fragrance rest for two weeks in a fresh, dark place. Shake it every day. Your fragrance is ready to use!

2) Make her a DIY Hand Cream

There is no woman who will not appreciate a good hand cream and especially if it’s made with love. To make one and give to your mom, follow this recipe here.

3) Plan the perfect day

Your mom is used to taking care of you. Why don’t you take care of her on Mother’s day by planning a day she will remember?  Start in the morning by taking her out for breakfast or lunch in a part of town she likes. Then you can go shopping together or walk in the old part of the city and have a late lunch with a nice glass of wine. Alternatively, you can spend the day at a park, preparing food and drinks for a picnic and just relax with her.

4) Create a collage of memories

Gather all the pictures of you and your mom, from the day you were born until now. Re-print them in high quality and glue them to a thick white paper board in the size you want. Take the board and get it framed with a nice frame. Wrap it with a ribbon and give it to your mom!
