If your sweet tooth is aching, and you are trying to avoid baking in the oven on a hot summer day, Jell-O Yogurt dessert is a deliciously cool alternative, and one that the kids will absolutely love!
You will need:
2 packets of red Jell-O (Strawberry or Cherry)
1 packet of Yellow flavoured Jell-O
1 container of low fat yogurt
Assorted canned fruits
Directions:
First, start with your yogurt base by making the yellow Jell-O according to its instructions. Instead of using water as the instructions direct, replace the water with your yogurt. Stir well in order to make a cream.
Next, using a spoon layer the bottom of your Pyrex evenly with the cream, and place in the refrigerator until it forms into a solid.
For your second step, you will want to empty your canned fruits in a strainer, cut them up into small pieces, and allow them to sit in order to drain them of their liquids. Place them on the side for your future steps.
After you have made your base, you will want to make your two packets of Red Jell-O according to the instructions on the package.
Once you have made your red Jell-O mixture, pour the mixture over your chilled yogurt cream base. Allow the Red Jell-O mixture to set a little bit. Go back to the fruit pieces you had cut and drained earlier, and begin to place them in the red Jell-O mixture. Put it back into the refrigerator and allow it to fully set for 1 hour or until the Jell-O is solid. Ones your see your Jell-O is fully set, you are ready to serve!
